The BEST ‘Annabelle’ But! A Effectively-Wanted Installment
I’ve been an enormous fan of The Conjuring Universe ever since it birthed in 2013 with James Wan’s very first masterpiece. Three years later he gave us The Conjuring 2, which in my view was just as great – if not higher – than the first! Aside from The Conjuring films, the sequence expanded into a “universe” with numerous spin-offs. First there was Annabelle (2014), which was respectable however not great, then Annabelle Creation (2017) which was EXCELLENT, then there was The Nun (2018) which was pretty okay, but could’ve been better. Now for Annabelle Comes Home. Every thing about this newest installment is brilliant (the plot, setting, environment, actors, characters, direction, and the artistic, non-repetitive scares). The concept of Annabelle the doll unleashing evil in The Warrens’ artifact room is a brilliant concept, and the movie did a wonderful job delivering that concept. I personally visited The Warrens Occult Museum a couple of years in the past and I believed to myself, “What if all these creepy artifacts got here to life one night?” It was a notion behind my head. I never dreamt it will turn into real film! Anyway, I need to say – this movie had me on the edge of my seat. Not only was it suspenseful, creepy, eerie, dark, and twisted; it introduced me and the franchise to new, sinister demons! The Bride demon scared me the most. She reminded me of Valak from The Nun, however in a marriage dress. Gary Dauberman actually did an outstanding job for his directorial debut and he did a terrific job with the “bounce scare” restraints. He added numerous rigidity and build up when it came to the scary parts. He didn’t resort to low cost, uninspired bounce scares nor did he have to rely on them to make this movie effective! I additionally beloved the looks of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, which was the “cherry on the top” of an incredible horror film. Even when their appearances were limited, their characters are still as strong as ever and their chemistry continues to shine. Total, I actually loved Annabelle Comes House and I feel it’s THE BEST installment within the ‘Annabelle’ trilogy. The performing was great, the setting and environment was good, the characters had been very likable, the scares were very authentic and artistic, it had its unhappy and emotional moments, the varied demons were absolutely creepy and had their very own traits, and it was stuffed with suspense and dread. I especially love how they dedicated the film to Lorraine Warren during the finish credit, who sadly handed away again in April. It’s a true shame she didn’t get to see this fascinating installment in a movie sequence that would not exist if it hadn’t been for her and Ed. Annabelle Comes House was a nicely-needed installment in The Conjuring Universe and I highly recommend it. It’s totally totally different from the others. I give it a ten/10 and 5 stars!
