The BEST ‘Annabelle’ But! A Effectively-Needed Installment
I’ve been a big fan of The Conjuring Universe ever because it birthed in 2013 with James Wan’s very first masterpiece. Three years later he gave us The Conjuring 2, which in my opinion was just as great – if not higher – than the first! Apart from The Conjuring movies, the series expanded into a “universe” with varied spin-offs. First there was Annabelle (2014), which was first rate but not great, then Annabelle Creation (2017) which was EXCELLENT, then there was The Nun (2018) which was pretty okay, but may’ve been better. Now for Annabelle Comes Home. All the pieces about this latest installment is good (the plot, setting, atmosphere, actors, characters, direction, and the creative, non-repetitive scares). The thought of Annabelle the doll unleashing evil in The Warrens’ artifact room is a superb concept, and the film did a beautiful job delivering that concept. I personally visited The Warrens Occult Museum a few years in the past and I thought to myself, “What if all these creepy artifacts got here to life one night time?” It was a notion at the back of my head. I by no means dreamt it would turn into real film! Anyway, I have to say – this film had me on the sting of my seat. Not only was it suspenseful, creepy, eerie, dark, and twisted; it introduced me and the franchise to new, sinister demons! The Bride demon scared me the most. She reminded me of Valak from The Nun, but in a marriage dress. Gary Dauberman really did an excellent job for his directorial debut and he did an excellent job with the “bounce scare” restraints. He added a number of tension and construct up when it got here to the scary parts. He didn’t resort to low cost, uninspired bounce scares nor did he must rely on them to make this film effective! I additionally loved the appearance of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, which was the “cherry on the top” of an awesome horror film. Even if their appearances had been restricted, their characters are still as strong as ever and their chemistry continues to shine. General, I actually enjoyed Annabelle Comes Dwelling and I feel it’s THE BEST installment in the ‘Annabelle’ trilogy. The appearing was great, the setting and atmosphere was good, the characters have been very likable, the scares have been very original and creative, it had its sad and emotional moments, the varied demons were absolutely creepy and had their own traits, and it was full of suspense and dread. I especially love how they devoted the film to Lorraine Warren during the end credit, who sadly passed away again in April. It is a true shame she did not get to see this fascinating installment in a film series that would not exist if it hadn’t been for her and Ed. Annabelle Comes House was a well-needed installment in The Conjuring Universe and I extremely advocate it. It’s very totally different from the others. I give it a ten/10 and five stars!
