The BEST ‘Annabelle’ Yet! A Nicely-Needed Installment
I have been a big fan of The Conjuring Universe ever because it birthed in 2013 with James Wan’s very first masterpiece. Three years later he gave us The Conjuring 2, which in my view was just as great – if not higher – than the first! Other than The Conjuring movies, the series expanded right into a “universe” with various spin-offs. First there was Annabelle (2014), which was decent but not great, then Annabelle Creation (2017) which was EXCELLENT, then there was The Nun (2018) which was fairly okay, but might’ve been better. Now for Annabelle Comes Home. Every part about this newest installment is good (the plot, setting, atmosphere, actors, characters, course, and the artistic, non-repetitive scares). The concept of Annabelle the doll unleashing evil in The Warrens’ artifact room is a superb concept, and the film did an exquisite job delivering that concept. I personally visited The Warrens Occult Museum a number of years in the past and I thought to myself, “What if all these creepy artifacts came to life one night?” It was a notion in the back of my head. I by no means dreamt it might flip into real movie! Anyway, I have to say – this film had me on the sting of my seat. Not only was it suspenseful, creepy, eerie, darkish, and twisted; it launched me and the franchise to new, sinister demons! The Bride demon scared me the most. She jogged my memory of Valak from The Nun, however in a marriage dress. Gary Dauberman actually did a superb job for his directorial debut and he did a fantastic job with the “soar scare” restraints. He added lots of stress and construct up when it came to the scary parts. He didn’t resort to cheap, uninspired leap scares nor did he have to depend on them to make this film efficient! I additionally beloved the looks of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren, which was the “cherry on the highest” of a great horror film. Even when their appearances have been restricted, their characters are still as strong as ever and their chemistry continues to shine. General, I truly enjoyed Annabelle Comes Home and I believe it’s THE BEST installment within the ‘Annabelle’ trilogy. The appearing was nice, the setting and ambiance was excellent, the characters were very likable, the scares had been very unique and artistic, it had its unhappy and emotional moments, the various demons had been completely creepy and had their very own traits, and it was full of suspense and dread. I particularly love how they dedicated the film to Lorraine Warren in the course of the end credit, who sadly handed away again in April. It is a true disgrace she didn’t get to see this fascinating installment in a movie collection that wouldn’t exist if it hadn’t been for her and Ed. Annabelle Comes House was a properly-needed installment in The Conjuring Universe and I highly suggest it. It is very completely different from the others. I give it a ten/10 and five stars!
